What do you say about a ship that was only on the lake for 2 years, and most of the information on her is sketchy. Built by the Molson and Merrit company, She was heading for Toronto when she caught fire and burnt in only 15 minutes. 28 of the 50 people on board lost thier lives on the Ocean Wave, when she sank in less than 90 minutes later. There is a rumour that she carried a large amount of gold and silver in her safe, but more than likely this was recovered in the salvage during 1857 if this actually happened. The Ocean Wave was located by the Hydrographic Survey in the early 80's.
